Amy's Family Home FAQ

  • The home has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and accommodates up to 9 guests.

    The three bedrooms provide:

    • 1 King bed 

    • 2 Queen beds 

    There are also two additional floor-level memory-foam mattresses:

    • 1 Full-size mattress — suitable for up to 2 guests 

    • 1 Twin-size mattress — suitable for 1 guest 

  • No. The living room has a standard sofa. It is not a pull-out sofa bed and is not counted as an advertised sleeping space.

  • The additional mattresses are memory-foam mattresses placed directly on the floor. They provide additional sleeping capacity for guests who are comfortable sleeping at floor level.

  • Yes. Amy's Family Home is a single-story home, with no interior stairs.

  • There are 2 full bathrooms.

  • Yes. The kitchen includes a refrigerator, dishwasher, electric stove and oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, cookware, dishes, silverware and basic cooking essentials.

  • Yes. The home has an in-home washer and dryer, making it suitable for both short and longer stays.

  • Yes. Guests have access to a private, fully fenced backyard and private patio with outdoor furniture.

    Central Texas summers can be extremely hot, so please use outdoor areas responsibly and never leave pets unattended outside.

  • Yes. A maximum of 2 pets is permitted with prior approval and payment of the applicable pet fee.

    All pets must be disclosed before arrival.

    Pets must be crated or safely secured whenever they are left alone at the property and may not be left unattended outdoors.

  • No, unless Pathfinder Vacations approves them in writing in advance.

    Only guests approved as part of the reservation may access or occupy the property. This includes friends and family who may simply want to stop by during your stay.

  • No.

    This is a strictly no-party, no-event property in a residential neighborhood. Unauthorized gatherings are prohibited.

  • Yes. There are exterior security cameras at the property.

    There are no cameras inside the home.

    The property also uses interior noise, occupancy and air-quality monitoring devices for property protection, safety and compliance.

    Guests must not disconnect, cover, disable or interfere with monitoring equipment.

  • Yes. Guests have access to driveway parking, with additional street parking available.

  • Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout the home.

  • Yes. Stays of up to 28 days are welcome. The home includes a full kitchen, washer and dryer, clothing storage and other amenities designed to make longer stays comfortable.

  • Texas State University is approximately 13.9 miles away, around a 22-minute drive, depending on traffic. 

  • San Marcos is approximately 20–25 minutes away by car, depending on your destination and traffic.

  • The home is approximately 30–35 minutes from Austin, depending on traffic and your destination. The property is also conveniently located near I-35. 

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is approximately 40 minutes away, depending on traffic.

  • Circuit of The Americas is approximately 30–35 minutes away by car, depending on traffic.

    COTA hosts major motorsports and entertainment events, including Formula 1 and MotoGP.

  • Coming soon to Kyle: the new All-Wheels Skatepark at Gregg-Clarke Park.

    The approximately 34,000-square-foot facility is designed for skateboarders, scooter riders, cyclists, rollerbladers and wheelchair users, making it one of Kyle's most exciting new recreational attractions. It includes a skate plaza, flow bowls and pump tracks. 

    The project was scheduled for completion in late summer 2026, so guests visiting soon may be among the first to enjoy it. 

  • Amy's Family Home is a convenient base for exploring Central Texas, including:

    • Kyle — parks, shopping, dining and local attractions 

    • San Marcos — Texas State University, shopping, dining and the San Marcos River 

    • Wimberley — Hill Country scenery, shops, galleries and swimming holes 

    • Lockhart — famous Texas BBQ 

    • Austin — live music, restaurants, museums and attractions 

    • Circuit of The Americas — major motorsports and entertainment events 

    • Fredericksburg — wineries, shopping and Hill Country attractions 

    • San Antonio — the River Walk, Alamo, museums and family attractions 

  • Before arrival, guests complete an easy online, hotel-style check-in through the Pathfinder Vacations guest portal.

    This includes:

    • Guest information 

    • Rental Agreement 

    • Government-issued photo ID 

    • A selfie for identity verification 

    • Verification that the name on the ID matches the booking 

    This process is used for fraud detection and prevention, identity verification and property security.

  • Depending on the reservation, guests will be offered the applicable damage protection option.

    For stays of 10 nights or fewer, the damage waiver is $50.

    For stays longer than 10 nights, the fee is $50 for the first 10 nights plus $3 for each additional night.

    The damage waiver is insurance-backed and covers eligible accidental damage subject to the applicable policy.

    It does not cover additional or excessive cleaning, damaged towels, damaged linens, intentional damage, unauthorized pets or guests, prohibited activity or other policy exclusions.

  • Our cancellation policy applies across all booking platforms:

    30 or more days before check-in: Full refund.

    Less than 30 days before check-in: Non-refundable.

    The cancellation deadline is 4:00 PM local property time, 30 days before check-in. Cancellations requested after 4:00 PM on that date are non-refundable.

  • Amy's Family Home is hosted by Jeanette, the hands-on owner of the property, with guest support and professional hosting services from Pathfinder Vacations.

  • The Rental Agreement sets out the terms that apply to your stay, including occupancy, visitors, pets, parties, cancellation, damage protection, property use and guest responsibilities.

    It helps ensure that both guests and the property owner know exactly what is expected before the stay begins.

  • Serious or material violations — including unauthorized visitors, parties, gatherings, pets, exceeding occupancy, excessive noise, property damage or other prohibited activity — may result in termination of the reservation without refund.

    Guests may also be responsible for resulting damage, cleaning costs or other applicable charges.

  • Please contact Pathfinder Vacations as soon as possible.

    Guests should report anything that isn't as expected within 24 hours of arrival, giving us the opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue promptly.
